Black and Blue

Top:  Aritzia (old, similar here),, Skirt:  Forever 21 (old, similar bow skirt here, similar houndstooth skirt here under $30!!), Shoes:  Dolce Vita (old, similar here), Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Ring:  Madewell, Tights:  Hue

I have a bow theme going on ~ it is hard to tell in the pictures above.

The earrings below have a very special sentimental value to me; my mother gave them to me as my first "good" pair of earrings after I got my ears pierced when I was in kindergarten.  They are very delicate and definitely one of my favorite pairs ~ a perfect match with my new Madewell ring!

Winery

Sweater:  Madewell, Pants:  AG via Anthropologie (old, newer version here), Shoes:  C-Label via Piperlime, Belt:  Madewell, Necklace:  House of Harlow, Bangle:  Forever 21 (old, similar here), Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff

I intended to wear the outfit above to a local winery on Saturday but the weather is so strange lately that by the time we were ready to go it was entirely too hot.  I decided to go with a plain white tee instead.  Not the best decision considering we got caught in a torrential downpour.

Despite the weather we had a great time.  I love this candid my husband snapped of my friend Danielle and me:

White tee:  Urban Outfitters, Nails:  Essie "Hot Coco"
Danielle is wearing:  Vest:  BCBG via Lomanns (LOVING this one), Tank:  Unknown (old, similar here), Necklace:  Forever 21 (similar here), Earrings:  Kendra Scott

Just like the perfect marriage of Bass and Guiness, such is the color combo of black and tan ~ a fall favorite of mine.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Swiss Dots

Sweater:  J.Crew (similar budget friendly version here), Blouse:  Joe Fresh (similar here), Skirt:  Bebe (old, similar here), Shoes:  Christain Louboutin, Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, newrsio ven here)

I'd say this is the quintessential teacher uniform.  Very "J.Crew catalog" looking.  Preppy yet chic.  I'm obsessed with this swiss dotted sweater that I picked up last week ~ another item you can count on seeing again!

Oxblood

Top:  Zara (love this long-sleeved version), Pants:  H&M (recent, similar here), Shoes:  Aldo (LOVE this pair), Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace:  House of Harlow, Sunnies:  Tom Ford

At the beginning of every season I create a list of my "must haves".  It's a way for me to attempt to budget for the new items I want to add to my wardrobe.  Oxblood-colored pants were high on my list this season ~ a coated pair would be ideal.

With a coupon I received via e-mail, I was able to score these beauties at H&M for only $20!!  My thriftiness has allowed me to add a few additional items to my list!

What's on your fall "must have" list this season?

Ladylike

Top:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Skirt:  Bebe, Shoes:  J.Crew (similar here for only $35!!!), Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Earrings:  Gift from my grandmother (similar here)

Pearls + bows + lace + ruffle + low side pony = one seriously feminine ensamble.

Never Forget...

Blazer:  Zara (similar here, LOVE this one), Blouse:  J.Crew (similar here), Skirt:  J.Crew Outlet (similar here), Clutch:  Unknown (similar here), Shoes:  Christain Louboutin (budget-friendly version here), Necklace:  Unknown (similar here)

Ok, ok ~ it's technically pink, white and blue but I don't have a lot of red in my wardrobe!

I want to take a moment to remember & thank those who were lost and those who served eleven years ago, and those who continue to serve.

Transition to Fall

Trench:  Bloomingdales (old, similar here), Dress:  Anthropologie, Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, loving this newer version), Shoes:  Nine West (old, similar here)

The fall wardrobe transition is always difficult for me.  I enjoy summer so much and usually it's pretty warm in NJ until the beginning of October.  Pieces like this adorable sleeveless shift definitely make the transition smoother.

I'll be sure to re-work it into an outfit involving tights when the temperature finally drops.

I can remember when I was younger spending hours picking out the perfect 'first day of school outfit'...

...not much has changed because evey year I still spend a lot of time choosing what to wear for the start of the new school year.

I have a feeling that this year will be the best yet!

It's as if Mother Nature knew on cue that summer was officially over yesterday because today it is rainy and chilly outside.  Over the weekend I went through my clothes, slowly resurrecting my fall favorites so that I can check that off my list before school starts.

Two more days!!

Well, it's official.  As of Monday summer is over ~ tear.  School starts on Thursday and then chaos will inevitably ensue.  As an ode to the past 3 wonderful and relaxing months I thought I'd put together some outtake photos that never made it to post.
