Something New

Jacket:  Forever 21 (old, similar here under $50!!), Turtleneck:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Skirt:  Anthtopologie (also old, similar here), Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (LOVE this newer version), Gloves:  H&M (recent, similar here), Tights:  The Limited (similar here on sale!), Shoes:  Old Navy (old, similar here)

My husband quickly snapped these pics as I was running out the door yesterday ~ so fast in the first pic that he cut off my feet!

The title of this post is in honor of my first blog post composed on my new MacBook Pro!!  This was my 30th birthday gift from my wonderful parents.  I know it sounds silly but I feel so liberated!  Aside from the computer my parents bought me ten + years ago when I went away to college {it barely survived the four years} this is the first of my adult life that I can call my own!!

Cheers to new beginnings with new technology!

The Neutral Zone

Sweater: Brandy & Melville (similar here), Tee: Urban Outfitters, Pants: Forever 21 (old, similar here), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (LOVE this newer version), Shoes: Christain Louboutin (budget friendly version here), Necklace: Gorjana, Watch: DKNY (obsessed with this one), Nails: Essie "Good as Gold"

Although I thoroughly enjoy a hearty pop of color, every once in a while it's nice to tone it down with some low-key neutrals.

West Point

Dress:  J.Crew Cardi:  J.Crew (old, similar here), Shoes:  Linea Paolo via Nordstrom (very old, DROOLING over this gorgeous glittery pair), Belt:  The Limited (liking this one), Necklace:  H&M (similar here), Pouch:  Chloe (similar here), Tights:  Hue, Earrings:  Gift from my grandmother (similar here)

I snapped these pictures on Thanksgiving Day.  My husband and I alternate the holidays and this year we were spending the day with my side of the fam.

Our tradition, since before I was born, is to go to West Point {U.S. Military Academy} for Thanksgiving.  My great uncle was an officer in the army so we have the privilege of eating at the Officer's Club.  The campus overlooks the Hudson River and is just breathtaking with it's old stone buildings.

Best part about going out for Thanksgiving?  No one has to cook or clean :)

The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful day.  I was skeptical about wearing a sleeveless dress in November but it was so warm that I'm glad I did.  I look forward to throwing on a button down under this dress to re-style it for work.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a relaxing long weekend!!

Are you out there on a quest for bargains today?

Leather and Lace

Dress:  Zara (similar here), Coat:  Bebe (very old, similar here), Boots:  Miss Sixty (old, similar here), Clutch:  Unknown (liking this one ~ under $25!), Necklace:  Forever 21 (old, similar here), Bangles:  Max and Chloe, Nails:  Nicole by OPI "Virtuous Violet"

Now that the holidays are here, I'm constantly on the lookout for the perfect holiday dress(es).  In reality I could probably get away with wearing the same dress for all holiday events/parties, but what fun would that be?

This dress was just screaming my name ~ leather and lace together???  It's like peanut butter and jelly, movies and popcorn, wine and cheese.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks for more of my holiday dress selections!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Autumn Attire

Vest:  Aqua via Bloomingdales (very old, similar here), Shirt:  Madewell, Pants:  H&M (LOVE these), Shoes:  Classiques Entier via Nordstrom ~ on sale!!!, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace:  House of Harlow, Wrap Bracelet:  Forever 21 (similar here), Watch:  DKNY(this gold & tortoise one is on my Christmas list), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

I especially love the mustard/oxblood color combination in the fall.  It reminds me of what the trees looked like before they lost their leaves. I added my fur vest for some warmth because it's been pretty cold in NJ.

On a side note, I'm a major holiday season junkie so my spirits are extra high this week.  Can't wait to officially kick off the season on Thursday.

I have so much to be thankful for!

Into the Mystic

Sweater:  TJ Maxx (similar here ~ under $20!!!), Shirt:  Madewell (similar here), Trouser Jeans:  Joe's (very old, similar here), Shoes:  J.Crew (old, similar here), Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs

I love mornings like this ~ the fog so thick on the lake that the rising sun appears hazy and mysterious.  Makes you wonder what the day will bring.  This kind of sunrise brings to mind one of my favorite Van Morrison songs:

"I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float into the mystic"

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Sepia

Jacket:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Sweater:  Forever 21 (very old, similar here), Pants:  Madewell, Shoes:  Tory Burch (old, similar here), Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (LOVE LOVE LOVE this newer version)

I'm kinda obsessed with these printed cords that my mother-in-law got me for my birthday.  They are neutral, yet they make quite the statement.

The different shades of brown remind me of the sepia filter on a camera.  I paired them with other neutral pieces here but I'm excited to wear them with some pops of color too!

Thirty is the New Twenty-One

Sweater:  Aritzia (borrowed from my sister-in-law, similar here, here), Tee:  Anthropologie, Pants:  Forever 21, Shoes:  Christain Louboutin (budget-friendly version here), Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace:  Forever 21, Nails:  Essie "Butler Please"

This past weekend marked a major landmark in my life.  I turned 30!!!

My friends teased me for wearing all black saying I was mourning the passing of my twenties, but I'm actually excited to begin this new decade.

I vow to make it even more exciting than the last!

Yes, a lot of what I'm wearing these days is borrowed from my in-laws.  We are still without power so my husband and I grabbed a few things and headed down to their house.  Lucky for me, the ladies in our family have FABULOUS taste!

What We Wore: Fall Remix Challenge

Hello readers!  Sorry for the hiatus ~ still no power/internet/cable/gas for my husband and me.  BUT our spirits are still high.  We are extremely fortunate that we had no major property damage.  Our hearts and helping hands go out to those who were not so fortunate.

I'm hoping to go back to regular scheduled blogging starting on Monday.  Until then, please enjoy Jessica's Fall Remix Challenge that I participated in over on her fabulous blog, What I Wore.  Thank you Jessica for hosting the challenge and to Crystalin {author of another fantastic blog, In the City with Crystalin} for editing my photos.

Hope everyone is at least {somewhat} warm and safe!
