Take Two

Top:  J.Crew (old, similar here, lining this sleeveless version), Skirt:  c/o eShakti, Shoes:  Steve Madden, Bag:  Unknown (similar here), Earrings:  Tory Burch, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban
When I put these pictures up on the computer I started to ask myself 'where had I seen this outfit before?'  It then occurred to me that this ensemble is strikingly similar to what I wore the last time I styled this skirt {see here}.  I hope you will all forgive me.  I will point out though, that I did try something a little out of my comfort zone by knotting the top rather than tucking it into the skirt.  I'm a big tucker, but I like the knotted look with this super high-waisted number.
Also, I finally broke down and bought these Steve Madden "Realove" heels.  Originally I had purchased a similar pair from Zara, but they just weren't comfortable for me {the straps were a little tight on my toes}.  I'm so happy that I went with these because they are comfortable and cute and reasonably priced.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Strange post title, I know, but appropriate for the subject of today's post.  I don't know if you have heard already, but as of July 1, Google Reader RSS {that includes GFC} will cease to exist.  That's right, no more daily updates from your favorite blogs sent to you via email.
Top:  H&M (similar here, LOVE this one), Skirt:  c/o PB&J Boutique, Shoes:  J.Crew, Bag:  Anthropologie (old, simlar), Belt:  Madewell (identical one here), Necklace:  Helen Ficalora, Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Before the panic sets in {I can feel it through the computer screen}, I'd like to propose an alternative ~ Bloglovin'.  I have always followed my daily reads via Bloglovin'.  To me, it is an easy way to keep them organized and categorized.
Also, to make the switch easier, the creators of Bloglovin' have set up an easy, two-click way for you to import the blogs you follow from Google Reader right to their site.  You'll have to set up an account first, but that should be quick and painless.  Click HERE to get started and good luck {only takes about 15 mins}.

Tropical

Top:  J.Crew ~ 25% off right now!, Pants:  Forever 21 (old, LOVING these for only $35!), Shoes:  Zara (similar here for $30!), Bag:  Unknown (similar here, here), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban
I was smitten with this tank as soon as I received the new J.Crew catalog.  The model on the cover was wearing it with the matching shorts and I loved the look so much that I was tempted to buy both pieces.  The print is more tropical that your typical floral print.  It instantly reminded me of my recent getaway to Key West and made me wish I were back in Margaritaville ~ but for now I'll have to settle for wearing it through the halls at my school.
Happy Monday everyone!

Ombre

Sweatshirt:  Zara (old, great alternative here), Skort:  Zara (exact same here for just $23!), Shoes:  Zara (loving this identical pair under $30!), Bag:  H&M (similar here, here)
Pulled this sweatshirt from the dark depths of my closet and thought it looked perfect with my favorite skort ~ also the only skort that I own, but nonetheless, my favorite.

The final countdown...only three more days of classes left until school's out for summer!

Scalloped Seersucker Shorts

Top:  H&M (old, similar here), Shorts:  Lilly Pulitzer, Shoes:  Anthropologie, Bag:  Louis Vuitton (love this budget-friendly option), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Belt:  H&M (similar)
My love for all things scalloped continues, and scalloped PLUS seersucker makes these shorts that much better.  I sometimes have a problem finding shorts that are the perfect length but these definitely fit the bill.  Too long makes my legs look short, but too short and I'm showing butt-cheek {which no one wants to see}.  These are just long enough to cover my rear and still lengthen my legs.

Stripes and Camo

Jacket:  Gap (sold out, similar herehere), Dress:  Madewell, Shoes:  Zara (old, similar herehere), Clutch:  Unknown (similar here, love this one), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban
Two of my favorite patterns paired so perfectly.  Hope all of the dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day!

Lime Green, Navy, And Pink

Shirt:  J.Crew (old, this year's version here, similar here for under $20!), Skirt:  J.Crew Factory (old, similar here, here), Shoes:  Zara (love this identical pair for under $30!), Clutch:  Unknown (LOVE this one, here under $20!), Bangle:  Forever 21 (similar)
Two of my favorite color combinations are lime green & navy, and pink & navy, so I thought ~ why not combine all three? Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Farmer's Market

Dress:  Zara (cute option here), Bag:  C.Wonder (sold out, similar here, here), Shoes:  H&M (old, similar here, here for a pricy but chic option), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Hat:  Urban Outfitters (old, similar here)
I wore this on Sunday for brunch and a trip to the farmer's market.  The weather was perfect and so was this simple ensemble.  This dress is so easy breezy and my tote was the perfect size to hold all of our farmer's market finds.  You will definitely be seeing a lot more of this easy throw-on-and-go dress as summer goes on.

On another note, thank you so much to everyone who entered my giveaway.  Now, for the moment you have all been waiting for...

Congrats Robin ~ I will be contacting you shortly via email!

Neon Dot Shorts

Top:  Zara (old, identical one here), Shorts:  J.Crew (sold out, similar here), Shoes:  Zara (love this identical pair for $30!), Clutch:  Unknown (similar here, here), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban
It's rare that I buy an expensive item at J.Crew before it goes on sale, but when I saw these shorts online I just had to have them.  I ordered them immediately and am so glad I did because I think they sold out that day.  My impulse shopping did me good for once!
Happy Monday!

Rockstud Pumps

Today I've teamed up with the fabulous, gorgeous, recent law school grad, Caitlin of A Little Dash of Darling, to showcase my favorite shoe of all time, the Valentino Rockstud pump.
These shoes have proven to be extremely versatile making an easy transition from winter into spring. As you probably know, they were a 30th birthday gift {with a bit of hinting} from my wonderful husband.  I've worn them with dresses, skirts, pants ~ I wear them with everything!  In addition, they fall right in line with the "punk couture" look that is super-hot right now.
Blazer:  Zara (similar here, here, LOVE this one) Cami:  Tibi,  Skort:  Zara (identical one here for under $25!!), Shoes:  Valentino, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Sunnies:  Forever 21 (similar here)
I love how Caitlin paired hers with this gorgeous cobalt dress.  They add the perfect amount of edge to her flirty frock.  She opted for the lower heel version while I {not as blessed in the height department} went for the sky high option.
Be sure to visit A Little Dash of Darling to show Caitlin some love!

Monday Giveaway

Hello readers and happy Monday.  This week was a whirlwind for my husband and me.  Between working late, several children's b-day parties, and news of my sister-in-laws engagement{congrats Ali & Tim!!} there was no time to snap pics.  And so I saw it as the perfect opportunity for a fabulous giveaway!

I was thrilled when IN PINK approached me for a collaboration.  I always love to hear how companies got their start and their story did not disappoint.  The jewelry was first sold in premier Bay Area nail salon, Pinkies {really ladies, what better to compliment a fresh mani than some bright baubles?!?}.  As word spread, they felt the need to be available outside of the Bay Area, and thus, IN PINK was born.
Toady I'm giving away this awesome necklace and earrings set.  For your chance to win:

  • Complete the simple Rafflecopter entries below... remember the more you do, the more chances you have to win ~ good luck!

  • This fab giveaway ends Tuesday, June 11th at 12:00 a.m. EST, so be sure to get all of your entries in before then.  Winner will be announced Wednesday, June 12th.
