I have always considered myself a "girly-girl".  When I put on this outfit for church today the lace, pearls and pastel hues made me feel so pretty and lady-like.  The head-to-toe peach/rose gold  is a bit matchy-matchy, yes, but I like matchy-matchy every now and then!

An outfit fit for a princess!!

I know I have been on a blogging hiatus for the past few days but I have good reason.  This past weekend was my niece Kennedy (the light of my life)'s 1st birthday party.  I spent weeks searching for the perfect gift for her, but decided that no ordinary gift would do.  I needed something unique so I put  my artistic abilities to good use and made her gift.  This was the end result:

Just what every 1-year-old needs - a full length mirror with the words to "Material Girl" painted down the sides.    I was really pleased with how it turned out and Kennedy and my sister-in-law absolutely loved it!!

Just a quick post today to get us all through this hump day.  It has been a LONG week.  We have NJASK testing (the NJ state standardized test) all week.  It can be stressful at times because there is strict protocol we need to follow as proctors.  My outfits have been fun and playful this week - even with the unseasonably cold weather - in an attempt to boost the morale of my students and colleagues!

Inkblot

When I first saw this dress I was hesitant to buy.  I love a floral pattern, but the first thing that went through my head is that it reminded me of the Rorschach Inkblot Test.  Once I put the dress on I knew it had to be mine.  I have worn it several times already.  It's different from anything I have in my closet and is perfect for an evening event, but can also be dressed down for a more casual conservative look.  I promise - when wearing - to refrain from asking people to interpret what they see.
