It's funny how similar these two outfits appear but they serve very different purposes in my wardrobe. 

 I love the cutout back, faux leather accents and accordian pleats of the first dress.  I wore it recently for a dinner that I attended with my husband.  Next time I think I would pair with this necklace in black {my sister-in-law was borrowing mine at the time} instead of the neon, and keep the black and white theme throughout.

The second dress is ideal for summertime at work.  I love a cotton shirt dress and I paired it with a fun flower belt to give the outfit a little pop.

Memorial Day

I must confess, I didn't actually wear this outfit today.  Reality:  I spent the entire weekend in bikinis, sandals and maxi dresses at my in-laws' lake house.  The weather was beautiful and my husband and I enjoyed a fun-filled weekend with our nieces and nephews.

I picked up this blouse and skirt last week and thought that they would look fantastic together.  Both of these pieces are versatile, so I expect to get a lot of use out of them for the LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL!!  Then it's back to bikinis and maxis almost every day ;-)

Last but certainly not least, thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country to protect our freedom ~ hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Seeing Double

Shorts with heels for work in a middle school??  Heck no!  Instead I changed into these metallic flats and threw on a black J Crew cardi.

I RARELY buy two of the same item when it comes to my wardrobe.  Instead I'm always searching for something different and unique ~ something that I don't have anything similar to in my closet.  This philosophy went out the window last week when I decided to purchase a second pair of Zara's basic sandal.  I just love my orange/tan pair so much that I couldn't resist them in all black.  Since they were under $50 I didn't even feel guilty!

Mirror Image

Ever since falling in love with this dress, I have been looking for a mirrored-print skirt.  This Forever 21 skirt is exactly what I had in mind.  I love the colorful scarf print, and I'm always drawn to pencil skirts.  For under $15, I had to snatch it up as soon as I saw it online!

In fact, to the delight of my husband, this entire outfit (minus the bag) was under $100 ~ score one for bargain shopping!!!

I didn't even realize until I looked back at my pictures for the week, how much I have been wearing the mint/navy combo lately.  Love these colors together.  They are perfect for spring and will make an easy transition to summer.

This weekend the weather is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL in NJ.  We have a lot of fun events planned with friends ~ and fun events mean fun outfits so stay tuned!!

Cheetah Maxi

Lately I have been wearing skinny jeans and a top/blouse {my go-to outfit} a lot, and I'm sure you're sick of seeing it.  Ok fine, I'm sick of wearing it!  Switched it up last Saturday because the weather was absolutely beautiful.  Maxi dresses are a great throw-on-and-go option.  I promise not to start abusing them!!
