I finally got my act together this week and began to pull my favorite fall pieces out of storage.

Every season I'm careful to assess what I already have before adding anything new to my closet. Blame it on mommy brain (although admittedly, it was pretty bad before), but somehow after being packed away for a mere six months, I forget so much!

First thing on my agenda was a new belt. I had been lusting over a few expensive ones, but landed this pretty pearly Zara number. It's exactly what I had been looking for - I love a belt that I can wear on my natural waist or with jeans (as seen here).

These are the last summer outfit pictures that I snapped for the season and seeing that it's been in the high 70s/low 80s all week, I thought that it was a good time to post. 

I've talked about my Zara sale strategy before, and this dress was another fabulous $15 score. One of my best girlfriends and I go to our local store when sale is just about over and drudge through the leftovers. We always manage to find some hidden gems at rock bottom prices. And although this dress is a bit short for work, it's perfect for our weekend beach getaways.

When I saw this dress online, I was instantly drawn to it. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of color and stripes, and I thought - what better way to send summer off than on a bright note?

Olive Jumpsuit

This jumpsuit might by my favorite piece I've worn all summer. My mama got it to me for Mother's Day, and at the time I questioned how much wear I would get out of it - sooo happy I decided to keep it. 

It's as comfortable as wearing pajamas, but can be dressed up in so many different ways. It's also perfect for an array of summer events (comes in a bright red/orange color too that could definitely be dressed up for a summer wedding).

I also must mention these fabulous woven slides that were a recent under $8 purchase from Forever 21. I was getting desperately in need of replacement for my favorite tan sandals that are on their last leg. These were the perfect inexpensive option.

Sheer Floral Midi Dress

While this dress is definitely a little fancier than my typical office style, I feel that it's always good to have a romantic number like this one in my closet. 

This see-through dress will be perfect to wear for some events I have coming up early this fall, and I'm sure I'll be wearing it again come spring. The smocking at the waist and cuffs makes it super comfortable - who doesn't love an expandable waistband?!

To Culotte or Not?

I've always been a huge fan of flare leg pants, and still remember fondly the last time culottes were all the rage (probably sometime in the early 2000s - yes, showing my age right now). So, you can probably imagine how happy I was when they recently made a comeback in full fashion forward force.

I'm not one to wear jeans often during the summer months - too hot and sticky in NJ - but culottes are the perfect pant alternative. If you are on the fence, try a pair and I guarantee you'll become a believer!
