All Black for Summer

While I'm usually all about the LWD for summertime, I fell in love with this lacy black number the minute I laid eyes on it!

For one, I'm always a sucker for a summery dress with sleeves. They're a rare find, but perfect for a chilly office.

Also, this one reminds me of a LoveShackFancy dress I had been lusting over, but for a fraction of the price.

Side note, Zaful's sizing can be tricky but luckily they usually provide detailed measurements. I'm wearing a size Large when I typically wear Small or X-Small. I went by the measurements provided and am so happy that I did. It fits perfectly - also, use code "ZFAnniversary" for up to $12 off of orders $100+!

So happy that summer (and Friday) is finally here! I know, I know -- technically still spring, but it felt as though the warm weather took forever to arrive this year. And while the forecast has been a little unpredictable, I'm excited partake in some warm weather activities.

Spring Cleanout With Madewell

After a few warm fifty-degree days in a row, I'm ready for spring. I broke out the light layers over the weekend and while I'm not quite ready to pack away my winter wardrobe, I'm starting to incorporate some lighter, brighter pieces into my cold weather rotation.

I've been living in chunky knits lately and loving sweaters that offer some texture. This seemingly ordinary black turtleneck is elevated by the popcorn texture - it adds easy interest to this monochrome look.

Floral Kimono

Ever since doing a presentation at work featuring Attico's FW16 collection, the robe/kimono been a trend I've been wanting to try. Picking the perfect print was no easy feat, but I finally settled on this sea green beauty. I love the contrast of the green/blue with pops of rosy red flowers.

I realize that this trend may not be for everyone - I wore this to work last week and my boss asked me why I was wearing my bathrobe to the office - ha!

Pairing it with heels helped to elevate the look and make it (in my opinion) work perfect.

Autumn Has Arrived

I finally got my act together this week and began to pull my favorite fall pieces out of storage.

Every season I'm careful to assess what I already have before adding anything new to my closet. Blame it on mommy brain (although admittedly, it was pretty bad before), but somehow after being packed away for a mere six months, I forget so much!

First thing on my agenda was a new belt. I had been lusting over a few expensive ones, but landed this pretty pearly Zara number. It's exactly what I had been looking for - I love a belt that I can wear on my natural waist or with jeans (as seen here).

These are the last summer outfit pictures that I snapped for the season and seeing that it's been in the high 70s/low 80s all week, I thought that it was a good time to post. 

I've talked about my Zara sale strategy before, and this dress was another fabulous $15 score. One of my best girlfriends and I go to our local store when sale is just about over and drudge through the leftovers. We always manage to find some hidden gems at rock bottom prices. And although this dress is a bit short for work, it's perfect for our weekend beach getaways.
