Colored Denim

Blazer:  Forever 21 (old, similar here), Shirt:  J.Crew, Pants:  J.Crew, Clutch:  Anthropologie (old, this one is on my wish list), Shoes:  Christian Louboutin (budget-friendly version here), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Necklace:  Gorjana, Bracelet:  c/o Left of Right, Nails:  Essie "Topless & Barefoot"
We had one 60-degree day last week and I jumped at the opportunity for a warm(er) weather ensemble.  I had purchased these J.Crew pants in "bright papaya" {seen here, here, here,} around this time last year, and loved them so much that I found myself wearing them very often.  So of course I was elated to see them on super-sale a few weeks ago!  I snatched up several pairs in different colors ~ each between $12 & $15!  I've already filled my colored denim quota for the upcoming season without breaking the bank!

Skating On Thin Ice

Coat:  Tulle (old, cute options here, here), Plaid Shirt:  J.Crew (almost sold out ~ similar here) Chambray:  Old Navy (old, similar here), Jeans:  Forever 21 (similar here), Boots:  Franco Sarto (old, LOVING this pair for just $59.99!!), Belt:  Forever 21, Necklace:  Gorjana, Earrings:  Tory Burch, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban
My husband and I took our nephews skating this past weekend ~ *correction* ~ my husband skated with them while I watched.  He played ice hockey in high school and is extremely graceful and light on his feet.  My nephews who are 3 and 5 years old, take skating lessons and in my opinion are both on their way to the NHL.  I, on the other hand, have a hard enough time walking on solid ground.  And, no, they were not actually "skating on thin ice" as the post title implies, but "skating on a perfectly safe frozen solid pond" did not have the same ring to it.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Band Camp

Jacket:  Forever 21 (old, similar here), Jeans:  J.Brand, Shoes:  Christian Louboutin (budget friendly version here), Clutch:  Vintage Dior wallet {borrowed from my mom} (similar here), sunnies:  Ray-Ban

I LOVE the cut and the detail of this band jacket that I purchased years ago from Forever 21.  It never goes out of syle and makes me feel so regal when I'm wearing it.

And it's so jazzy that I don't need a lot of accessories.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Ode to Linea Paolo

Sweater:  Anthropologie (old, diggin' this one), Jeans:  AG via Anthropologie, Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, newer version), Shoes:  Linea Paolo via Nordstrom (very old, similar here), Cuff:  Tory Burch, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

My husband hates when the leaves fall because it creates a lot of extra yard work for him.  I LOVE when the leaves fall because their colors look so beautiful scattered across the ground.
About 5 years ago, Nordstrom carried a shoe line by a designer named Linea Paolo {I believe they were exclusive to Nords because I could never find them anywhere else}.  Almost every pair ~ in my opinion ~ was just exquisite.
I still own 5 or 6 pairs of these shoes and they are amongst my all time faves.  The brand was affordable, beautifully made, and the shoes had gorgeous detailing.  Sadly, this line no longer exists.  I would love to know what happened to it!?!

Well, it's official.  As of Monday summer is over ~ tear.  School starts on Thursday and then chaos will inevitably ensue.  As an ode to the past 3 wonderful and relaxing months I thought I'd put together some outtake photos that never made it to post.

Rules of the Water

Dress:  Anthropologie (old, LOVE this one), Bag:  Unknown (similar here), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

I typically don't go anywhere without wearing shoes {they are without a doubt my favorite accessories} but they are not to be worn when riding in my father-in-law's boat.

Just following the rules of the water!

Any exciting plans for Labor Day weekend?

Mosaic

Skirt:  Anthropoloige, Tank:  Aritzia (similar here), Shoes:  Zara (LOVE this pair ~on my wishlist!), Necklace:  House of Harlow, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff

I bought this skirt intending "back to school" wear, but upon bringing it home I realized that paired with some basics it was perfect for a night out.  I can't wait to work this skirt into multiple ensembles so READERS BEWARE:  you will undoubtedly see this skirt on repeat.

Maxin' and Relaxin'

Jacket:  Forever 21, Dress:  T-Bags (old, similar here on sale!!!), Bag:  Unknown (similar here), Necklace:  J.Crew (LOVE this one), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

Sorry for the blogging hiatus!  I've been down the shore since Thursday and the weather has been so perfect.  We have been on the beach until at least 5pm every day.  I am truly enjoying these last few weeks before school starts.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as much as I am!

Hot Child in the Suburbs

Dress:  Fighting Eel (old, similar here, here), Bag:  Louis Vuitton, Shoes:  Tory Burch, Cross Bracelet:  similar here, here, here, Aviators:  Ray-Ban, Nails:  Essie 'to buy or not to buy' (love the name!!)

I know, I know, "suburbs" does not have as great a ring to it as "city" but I had to keep it real!  We are having another heat wave in NJ and the temp is supposed to be 90+ degrees through the weekend and into next week.

My outfit today is a little simpler than what I normally wear but if it were socially acceptable to walk around in a bikini, I would probably be doing just that.  Also, I must confess, my idea of showering the past couple of days has consisted of splashing around in various swimming pools.

We took the above pictures at dusk and I was kinda diggin the blue hue that showed up as a result.

I took the picture below while sunning on my friend's pool deck in Hoboken - amazing view of the city - life is good :-)

Sunday Fun-day

Top:  J.Crew, Pants:  Zara (similar here), Shoes:  Zara, Belt:  H&M, (similar here) Necklaces:  Madewell (similar here), Cross Necklace (similar here), Bag:  LV Speedy, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Watch:  DKNY (similar here)

My husband owns his own business, which means he typically works six sometimes even seven days a week.  Sunday is the only day when we get to spend the majority of the day together.  We often spend the morning in Warwick ~ a quaint town in Orange County NY full of boutiques, antique shops, and charming cafes.  We start with brunch at our favorite French cafe and then head over to the farmer's market which they host from May to October.  Today we picked up some homemade beef jerky and ravioli to go with wine from the best winery in the area.

Needless to say, Sunday is definitely my favorite day of the week!

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?
