Perpetual Winter

Coat:  c/o Sheinside, Top:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Jeans:  H&M (similar non-maternity style here), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Boots:  Hunter, Sunnies:  Forever 21 (similar here)

This winter seriously seems as though it's never going to end. In fact, it's snowing as I'm creating this post. I haven't seen green in months, and I'm seriously yearning for some fresh air and vitamin D.

But enough whining about the weather.

Once it does start to warm up and the flowers begin to appear, Baby Royle will be here before I know it. And I'm certainly nowhere near ready for her arrival.

Happy Monday everyone!

If you've been thinking I've been looking a bit rounder in my mid-section these days, you are absolutely correct.

Our baby girl is due to arrive in June and we could not be happier. After a long journey filled with many ups and downs, we feel extremely blessed. I'm 21 weeks along and have had a wonderful pregnancy thus far.

For a second little surprise, scroll down to find out who won my Bip & Bop giveaway.

Congrats Prasert! I will be contacting you shortly. Thank you everyone for entering, and stay tuned for another fabulous giveaway coming soon!

Shorts & Stripes

Top:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Shorts:  Bec & Bridge (almost identical here for under $30!), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Shoes:  Burberry Prorsum (budget friendly option here), Sunnies:  Forever 21 (similar here)

While {as I mentioned on Monday} I am definitely trying to milk every last outfit from my summer wardrobe, I can't help but think about which pieces will make a seamless transition into fall.

These shorts are at the top of my list. I look forward to wearing them with booties, and eventually tights {once my my bronzy glow begins to fade}.

What summer pieces will you be wearing into fall?

Rehearsal

Blazer:  Helmut Lang ~ on sale!, Dress:  Anthropologie (old, LOVE this similar option, this one too!), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Shoes:  Loeffler Randall, Sunnies:  LeSpecs c/o SunglassesShop

This Helmut Lang blazer ~ another one of my sale finds.

I was in desperate need of a new white blazer, and after purchasing this leather-sleeved number for my birthday, I would settle for nothing less than Helmut Lang.

There is something about a perfectly tailored blazer ~ a wardrobe essential.

Tonight we celebrate my sister-in-law's rehearsal dinner. Our yard has been transformed into the most enchanting wedding venue I have ever seen {complete with a custom altar that my husband built}. And along with a fabulous weather forecast, I'm sure the day is going to be absolutely perfect!

Skirting The Issue

Top:  Aritzia (old, great alternative here), Skirt:  Anthropologie (old, LOVE this budget-friendly option), Shoes:  Schutz, Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

There are some items in my closet that I never tire of. This printed pencil skirt is definitely one of them. It's perfect for work and for any dressier occasions.

I wore it to my cousin's bridal shower on Saturday and then to work again yesterday.

Not to mention, I have worn this skirt for TWO job interviews and have gotten the job both times. I'd say that makes it my good-luck-charm-skirt.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Hello and TGIF! It's been a crazy but fun week. I started my new job and I LOVE it. I feel as though I'm back in my element.

On that note, I'm a woman of few words today. I wish everyone a fun and relaxing weekend. I'm hoping to be able to squeeze in a trip to the winery with the hubs.

On that note, have a happy Monday!

The Elements

Sweater:  J.Crew (old, similar hereliking this owl sweater for only $15!), Top:  J.Crew, Skirt:  Topshop (sold out, great option here), Coat:  Forever 21 (old, similar here), Shoes:  Zara (similar here), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Tights:  Hue

While the weather elements are still working against us East Coast fashionistas, today I decided to deconstruct the elements of picking the perfect outfit.

The daily dilemma -- what to wear to work -- is one that we all face. Some, who are much more organized than I, may find themselves faced with this quandary only once a week. I prefer to live on the edge, assembling an ensemble each and every morning, and scrambling to slip on my stilettos as I run out the door.

So where do I begin? I first refer to the weather app on my iPhone. If  rain or heavy snow is predicted, I can immediately rule out all things suede and most pieces that are predominately leather. On dry days, I immediately reach for the aforementioned items as I know their usage is limited.

Once I have assessed the weather restrictions, I seek out a piece I haven't worn in a while and build my outfit around that. For the outfit in the pictures above, I started with my French Hen sweater.

Next, I try to remember back to the last time I wore this sweater as I try to change up the outfit as much as possible.

Then comes my favorite part -- the color scheme. I like to do 'matchy-matchy' without looking too 'matchy-matchy'. Clearly, I chose cobalt as my accent color and the plaid paired so perfectly that I just couldn't resist.

I kept the rest of the look neutral and chose a grunge glam quilted leather skirt to offset the preppiness of the plaid and graphic sweater. Topping the look off with a classic military coat and my cobalt satchel, I was ready to face the day.

Work, eat, sleep, repeat.

Happy Monday!

Coat:  J.Crew (old, very similar here on SALE!), Top:  J.Crew, Pants:  AG Jeans, Boots:  Miss Sixty (very old, similar here), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Sunnies:  Forever 21

When the mid-winter blues got ya down, gather your brightest items and wear them all together. Does the trick every time.

Pashli

Blazer:  Helmut Lang, Top:  Gap, Skirt:  TopShop (sold out - great option HERE for under $20!), Bag:  3.1 Phillip Lim LARGE Pashli ~ on major sale!, Shoes:  Zara, Tights:  Hue, Sunnies:  Ray-Ban, Necklace:  J.Crew Factory (great alternative here)

After drooling over this bag for more than a year now, I finally decided to make this blue beauty mine. I was hesitant to spend so much money on such a colorful selection, but after purchasing I've discovered that cobalt is the new black.
This bag goes with EVERYTHING! I played it safe here, pairing it with all-black, but stay tuned for some more exciting colorful combinations to come.
