Simplicity

Top:  Forever 21, Skirt:  Zara (sold out, similar here, LOVE this eyelet version), Bag:  Sophie Hulme, Shoes:  Schutz (sold out in black - flat version here), Bracelet:  Nordstrom (old, similar here), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

Although I truly enjoy wearing bright colors all summer, sometimes a simple black and white ensemble says it all.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week ~ two more days until the weekend!

Colorful Kicks

Top:  Anthropologie (old, similar here), Pants:  Anthropologie (old, LOVE this similar option), Shoes:  Burberry Prorsum, Clutch:  Anthropologie (old, similar here, also love this one), Sunnies:  Ray-Ban

When I purchased these pink shoes {on major sale}, I never imagined I would get so much use out of them. I quickly realized that they look amazing with pretty much everything in my closet.

During the summer months, I gravitate toward my brightly colored shoes much more than I do to the neutral ones.

This can only mean one thing ~ I must make it my mission to purchase a pair of shoes in every color of the rainbow.

Happy Monday everyone!

Beach Hair, Don't Care

Missing the beach as we won't be going down the shore this weekend.

However, I am looking forward to some r&r by the lake.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

After having a picture-perfect weekend, this sunshiny number provided the perfect pick-me-up to get me over the mid-week hump.

Better days are ahead people ~ they are called Saturday and Sunday. In the meantime, I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

The one thing I REALLY miss about teaching?

Summer vacation.

Therefore my new schedule leaves me longing for the weekends.

We have been lucky enough to have some wonderful weekend weather in NJ this summer. Therefore, my husband and I have been seizing the opportunity to go down the shore.

So, when our weekends are not occupied by parties, weddings, or showers - you know where to find us.

Hope everyone had as wonderful a weekend as I did!

Eyelet Details

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of dresses ~ especially in the summer. As cool as it may be inside my office, I just can't bring myself to wear pants/jeans often.

Perhaps it's the fact that bare leg season is so short in NJ? Whatever the reason, I jump at any opportunity to buy a new cute summer dress that it also work appropriate.

This white shirt dress might as well have been calling my name. Airy enough for the sweltering temps, yet conservative enough for the office. The cutout eyelet detail on the back was just an added bonus. Did I mention I scored this little number for under $40?!?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Keeping it short and sweet today {this post and my skirt}.

My husband and I had a spectacular weekend ~ Saturday in particular. We enjoyed a bottle {or two} at the winery, and then tried a new restaurant that we just LOVED.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Red Hot

Dress:  J.Crew ~ on sale for under $50!, Bag:  Sophie Hulme, Shoes:  Steve Madden (this year's version here), Aviators:  Ray-Ban

Happy Thursday everyone! The weekend is in sight, and as usual can't come soon enough. It has been super hot this week - but I'm not complaining - just stating the facts. I would take 6 months straight of this hot, humid weather before I would opt to repeat this past winter.

I've been pulling out all of my favorite shift dresses in an attempt to stay cool, and I guess it's working as I have not melted yet.

This scalloped number from last season is still one of my favorites. It's fun, yet perfect for work with a blazer.

Instead of the shore this weekend {my husband has to work}, we are planning to spend Saturday at the winery. What are your plans for the weekend?

Back to Business

Top:  J.Crew, Skirt:  J.Crew (old, similar here), Bag:  Louis Vuitton (LOVE this similar option), Shoes:  Burberry Prorsum ~ on sale! (also here), Aviators:  Ray-Ban

This past weekend was one of those weekends that you never want to end. We celebrated the 4th at my summer stomping grounds - the Jersey Shore.

The beach was absolutely beautiful, and my husband and I had the most relaxing time.

But all good things must come to an end, and yesterday it was back to the daily grind.

I felt a little like a watermelon with my green skirt and pink shoes, but if it's wrong to dress like your favorite fruit, then I don't want to be right.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Stars and Stripes

Although this is not my typical patriotic July 4th outfit post, I am wearing stars {the sandals} and stripes!

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy Independence Day!

As If

When Bow & Drape approached me about customizing an item from their website, I was absolutely thrilled. There is nothing I love more than a personalized piece.

And so I began browsing my options. I could not believe my eyes when I came across this Clueless inspired 'As If' embellishment. I had a total twin peaks experience!

Happy July!
