Day to Night, Black and White

Dress:  H&M, Shoes:  Zara, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace:  ColorblockShop on Etsy, Bracelet:  Vintage (my mother's)

Dress, Belt, Shoe & Earrings:  Anthropologie, Necklace:  Luluka on Etsy

It's funny how similar these two outfits appear but they serve very different purposes in my wardrobe.

I love the cutout back, faux leather accents and accordian pleats of the first dress.  I wore it recently for a dinner that I attended with my husband.  Next time I think I would pair with this necklace in black {my sister-in-law was borrowing mine at the time} instead of the neon, and keep the black and white theme throughout.

The second dress is ideal for summertime at work.  I love a cotton shirt dress and I paired it with a fun flower belt to give the outfit a little pop.

Hope everyone is staying cool!

Memorial Day

Top:  Anthropologie (similar here), Skirt:  J.Crew (similar here), Shoes:  Christian Louboutin, Bag:  Unknown brand (similar here), Bracelet:  SpikethePunch on Etsy, Nails:  Essie 'Action'

I must confess, I didn't actually wear this outfit today.  Reality:  I spent the entire weekend in bikinis, sandals and maxi dresses at my in-laws' lake house.  The weather was beautiful and my husband and I enjoyed a fun-filled weekend with our nieces and nephews.

I picked up this blouse and skirt last week and thought that they would look fantastic together.  Both of these pieces are versatile, so I expect to get a lot of use out of them for the LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL!!  Then it's back to bikinis and maxis almost every day ;-)

Last but certainly not least, thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country to protect our freedom ~ hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Seeing Double

Top:  J.Crew, Shorts:  Anthropologie, Shoes:  Zara, Bracelet:  Forever 21, Necklace:  H&M

Shorts with heels for work in a middle school??  Heck no!  Instead I changed into these metallic flats and threw on a black J Crew cardi.

Flats:  H&M (only $15!!)

I RARELY buy two of the same item when it comes to my wardrobe.  Instead I'm always searching for something different and unique ~ something that I don't have anything similar to in my closet.  This philosophy went out the window last week when I decided to purchase a second pair of Zara's basic sandal.  I just love my orange/tan pair so much that I couldn't resist them in all black.  Since they were under $50 I didn't even feel guilty!

Mirror Image

Top:  H&M (similar here), Skirt:  Forever 21, Shoes:  Zara, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace:  The Limited, Sunnies:  Tom Ford, Nails:  Essie "Camera"

Ever since falling in love with this dress, I have been looking for a mirrored-print skirt.  This Forever 21 skirt is exactly what I had in mind.  I love the colorful scarf print, and I'm always drawn to pencil skirts.  For under $15, I had to snatch it up as soon as I saw it online!

In fact, to the delight of my husband, this entire outfit (minus the bag) was under $100 ~ score one for bargain shopping!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Mint and Navy

Blazer:  Forever 21(old) similar here, Top:  Madewell, Jeans:  Zara, Shoes:  Zara, Bag:  LV Speedy 30, Belt:  H&M, Aviators:  Ray-Ban, Bracelets:  Anthropologie & Luluka,  Watch DKNY

Dress:  H&M, Blazer:  H&M, Shoes:  Me Too, Necklace:  Madewell, Cross Necklace:  Luluka, Watch:  DKNY

I didn't even realize until I looked back at my pictures for the week, how much I have been wearing the mint/navy combo lately.  Love these colors together.  They are perfect for spring and will make an easy transition to summer.

This weekend the weather is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL in NJ.  We have a lot of fun events planned with friends ~ and fun events mean fun outfits so stay tuned!!

Cheetah Maxi

Dress:  H&M, Bag:  Rebecca Minkoff, Aviators:  Ray-Ban, Bracelets:  Tory Burch, Luluka, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Ring:  Vintage (from my mother), Nails:  Essie "Mint Candy Apple"

Lately I have been wearing skinny jeans and a top/blouse {my go-to outfit} a lot, and I'm sure you're sick of seeing it.  Ok fine, I'm sick of wearing it!  Switched it up last Saturday because the weather was absolutely beautiful.  Maxi dresses are a great throw-on-and-go option.  I promise not to start abusing them!!

Happy Hump Day!!

Crystal Springs

Top:  J.Crew, Jeans:  7FAM, Bag:  LV Speedy, Shoes:  Christian Louboutin, Aviators:  Ray-Ban, Bracelets:  J.Crew, Anthropologe, Watch:  DKNY

After having a wonderful brunch with my mother and brother yesterday morning, my husband and I headed up to Crystal Springs ~ a BEAUTIFUL golf & country club in northwestern NJ ~ to celebrate Mother's Day with my mother-in-law.  We had a fantastic dinner at Crystal Tavern.  The grounds are breathtaking and the restaurant sits high up with a view of the mountains as a back drop.

Crystal Springs has very special significance to my family because my husband and I got married there almost 5 years ago!!  It was a wonderful way to spend the day and it brought back so many beautiful memories of our wedding day.

A special day for a special mother.  Someone who has been there for me through my ups and downs.  Who has always loved her children fully and unconditionally.  Someone so selfless and so generous with everyone who crosses her path.  The woman who made me the person who I am today.  I love you, Mom!
Our favorite picture.

I truely am blessed in my life because in addition to having the most wonderful mother on the planet, I also have the most wonderful mother-in-law a girl could ask for.  Our relationship is unique in that I don't feel that many mother/daughter-in-laws are as close as we are.  From {almost} the beginning you have made me feel like I was always a part of the family and I am eternally greatful for that.

To all of the wonderful mothers out there ~ Happy Mother's Day!

Feminine Details

Blouse:  Zara, Skirt:  H&M, Bag:  Anthropologie, Shoes:  Zara, Necklace:  H&M, Nails:  Fingers Essie "Turquoise & Caicos" Toes OPI "Fly"

I have always considered myself a "girly-girl".  When I put on this outfit for church today the lace, pearls and pastel hues made me feel so pretty and lady-like.  The head-to-toe peach/rose gold  is a bit matchy-matchy, yes, but I like matchy-matchy every now and then!

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Blouse:  Madewell, Pants:  Zara, Shoes:  Zara, Bag:  Marc by Marc Jacobs (old), Necklace:  Luluka (Etsy), Bracelet:  H&M, Aviators:  Ray-Ban

These were taken a few days ago - it has been raining all week and is supposed rain through Friday.  Atleast it will stop in time for a little Cinco de Mayo celebration!
Happy Wednesday!!
